The most amazing thing about this book (and all Amy Licence's books

The most amazing thing about this book (and all Amy Licence's books, to be honest) is the fact she can make such in depth research of potentially dry facts interesting and the convoluted events of this time period clear. I loved the book, and was amazed at the wealth of information it contained.

Loved this book. It contained a lot of information about women not before known by me and filled in some of the blank spaces in my studies. I recommend this book to anyone who studies the Plantagenets.

She weaves together the stories of the Red Rose and the White Swan.
Here she has brought reality to these ladies, showing their individual side, their burdens and tribulations. Here you find the joy and wisdom they played behind the scene, and the sacrifices they were duty bound to make for the sake of family and crown.
